Become Disability Confident

The Government’s Disability Confident scheme encourages businesses to recruit and retain disabled people, and people with health conditions, for their skills and talent.

The Disability Confident scheme was created to help employers draw from the widest possible pool of talent, as over seven million people of working age in the UK (17.5 per cent) are disabled or have a health condition.

If you become Disability Confident it can benefit your organisation in a number of ways:

  • Draw from the widest possible pool of talent
  • Attract high quality staff who are skilled, loyal and hard working
  • Save time and money on the costs of recruitment and training by reducing staff turnover
  • Keep valuable skills and experience
  • Reduce the levels and costs of sickness absences
  • Improve employee morale and commitment by demonstrating that you treat all employees fairly
  • Being externally recognised as a Disability Confident organisation will show your commitment to employing disabled people and grow your reputation for being an inclusive employer.
